The players fitting the profile.. eg. Raheem Sterling does not want to stay. Man Utd have made an enquiry for the price to turn Raheem into a Red Devil...... damn you SAF !

don't know where you get this info but don't believe everything you read. until the day it come to pass, will continue to have faith in the kid. regardless, no one player is bigger than the club, so in the end, if he wants to leave, so be it. ;)

Just playing the devils advocate, i think pool scores more goals without suarez.. he is a selfish player who barely passes n takes too many touches on the field. Pool plays better attack without him..scoring gets spread around

Football is one funny kelong game. How can u explain a team which had beaten Pool 1-3 @ Anfield could crumble so spectacularly and lose by 8 goals to zero??? Maybe juz our rotten luck we played Villa on their best day while Chelski played them on their worst day!

Nothing to do with best day or worst day...... the modern game is all about money! Why do you think all these billionaires are buying into the game? Do a background check on where their money source originated and you get the idea ;)

We are small bit players in this syndicated world of black money and are very careful not to antagonise anyone for the safety and well being of ourselves and our families. We just follow instructions. If we have to kelong then so be it.... after all it is just a game.... we are not going to put our loved ones at risk.

Do you know why Chris Eaton, the Chief Investigator of FIFA who was leading the investigations into kelong matches threw in the towel? For the same reasons in that he will not sacrifice his loved ones because of his job.

Stoke is a famed DRAW specialist and impotent team. In fact I pessimistically predicted it could be a goaless draw or 1-0 either way. But didn't expect Stoke to put 3 past us!!! If we continue to play like this, we may well finish mid table or worse!!!

was talkin to a fellow Pool fan yester. we agree Pool could be vulnerable agt such 'weak opponents' like QPR. i.e the more u think Pool should beat QPR, we may end up givin them their 2nd win of the season. if u hv been a Pool fan all these years, u should know what im talkin abt - Pool always like to give a 'lifeline' to teams on a bad run when they r expected to beat them. i hope we kill off QPR convincingly n finish the year on a high note!

i hope u r wrong bro. im optimistic of a minimum draw or better for Pool. Cisse will be all hyped out no doubt. QPR loves to attack n pump long ball. that is where our defence could be caught out. but saying that, they love to attack so much there r often gaps at their back which I hope Suarez n Co could exploit. the signing of Sturridge certainly brought much relief to Pool fans like us. indeed, can't imagine how Pool could cope if Suarez (touch wood!) is injured for a lengthy period n the team playing w/o a recognisable striker. sturridge may not be BIG like RVP or Torres but he's effective n scores when given d opportunity, like devils' chico.

btw, read that Alonso is reluctant to sign a contract with RM n there were rumours that he was looking for an EPL club. what a dream if he will to return back to Pool!

But if you watched the match, we did rode on our luck thrice in the first half...
Sunderland could have equalised after our first goal, and two other good chances to grab a goal after our second....

We played well, luck changed for the better, Suarez cant stop scoring, Stevie passed the shit out of opponents, signs of better things to come???

Fantastic display from 1st minute to last. SG was awesome today, my MOTM. JH and SD should have played themselves out of being sold. Hope the whole team will play like this against the scums....

Din watch the match, but from the highlights, i think Henderson and Downing played well, even Allen looked good coming off the bench, had a goal chalked off for offside.

Henderson has created few chances with his passing and great off-ball running by Downing to create the space for Gerrard to pass to Suarez for his 3rd goal.

But I tot Liverpool was going after Demba Ba also at the first place

I dun think we're ever in the race to sign Ba. BR seems to prefer players he worked with before.

It was Gerrard-Torres time when we last seen such long passes from him to our striker, who will in turn bury the chances.

Hope more to come in the new year..:D:D:D

We damn lucky liao... We lost the last 3 matches Phil Dowd refereed us, but Sunderland just extend their losing streak under him to 8 matches!

yes, really a disappointing 1H for us. we did not register a single shot on goal, we never threaten devils' goal, we can't string a few decent passes together, the understanding between our players were horrible (as if we are a newly assembled squad who are playing for the 1st time) and worst of all, there were at least 2 occasions which our horrible passes near our own penalty nearly led to a United goal.

devils undoubtedly the better team, n it could easily have been 2, 3 or 4 nil. i agree with bro beck7777 ... the way we play in the 1H, we deserve to lose.

If anything positive for us, it seems Howard Webb is quite pro-Liverpool so far .... many decisions went our way. :D

look at the bright side, with sturridge our attacking upfront looks very promising indeed. suarez n him need more playing time to forge a better understanding.

but tonight's game also exposed our serious lack of depth in the squad. think BR has to do more in the Jan tfr window. players like Henderson, Downing n allen are not up to standard. we need a more experienced defender to cover for enrique; Wisdom is too young n lacked experience. Borini, ok ... maybe we need another 10 games or so to judge him but the tfr window would have closed by then. Well, Chelsea seems to love selling players to us huh? what about Lampa??? :D

really CCB! yet another goal conceded from a stupid setpiece!!!:mad::mad:

I have to say it was a very well taken free kick with the ball swerving into its target with pinpoint accuracy. Reina was unable to read its flight. As much as I hate to see the scums score...... have to give credit where it is due. :)

Actually we could have given them a better fight in 1H. The pundit accurately phrased it when he said the starting line up was almost 'reluctant'. It didnt give the impression we were out for 3 points. Downing was a peripheral figure and back to his old ways of playing back passes mostly. Sturridge should have been on for the start, and with him up front, we could have given Rio who's lost some pace, some problems. Be that as it may, it's 3 points lost. We were good at least for a draw...

That's the prob ..

We always win with this type of performance and scoreline against such teams...ful, sun, Norwich..but only these type of teams can we say we are good but when we are up against any top 8 sides..it's back to square one.

Me being pessimistic?
Well statistics don't lie..
Only bright side is we have another striker to partner LS..
Hope we improve with this new partnership

Clubcall: Coutinho prefers LFC switch25th Jan 2013 - Media Watch 0 CommentsPrintShare

Southampton's £10.2m bid for Inter Milan's Philippe Coutinho has been accepted, but the player would reportedly rather join Liverpool.

The 20-year-old Brazilian playmaker had been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool during this current transfer window, but the Merseysiders were only willing to pay around £8million.

The Saints' stepped in earlier this week with more money, but Coutinho claimed he was not for sale and did not want to leave the San Siro in light of Wesley Sneijder's departure to Galatasaray which will leave a void in the midfield for him to possibly fill.

However, it emerged on Friday that Inter had agreed a fee with the Saints and were willing to offload him to the South Coast outfit in order to fund their bid for Paulinho from Corinthians.

But Coutinho appears to have muddied the waters again as Gazzetta Dello Sport is reporting that he is not willing to join the Saints and is urging Inter to let him move to Liverpool if he is being sold.

Therefore Inter will either have to wait for an improved offer from the Reds or Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, who had Coutinho on loan at Espanyol from last January until the end of last season, will have to use his powers of persuasion to change his mind.

Will he be our second signing? l hope so..

Continho is Brazilian not Italian...... but then again he has not been able to command a first team place in Inter so you say is he any good?
Only time will tell as he is young and hopefully can be groomed.

Coutinho should fit into the BPL nicely as he is technically gifted, has passion for the game and is physically robust. He does not fit the profile of a typical Italian player as he is not inclined to being tactically restrained.

His footballing style is similar to Suarez in that he likes to dribble and run all over the pitch...... although he was mainly deployed as a left midfielder he is more of an attacker as he likes to run at defenders and shoot at goal...... in fact he has been criticised at one point of his career as being selfish for shooting on sight instead of passing the ball to better placed teammates.

In the Brazil U-16s & U-18s teams which he starred in...... he was deployed as a 2nd striker given free rein to roam in the space between the midfield & final 3rd. :p

I see his acquisition as a shrew buy by BR as he has tremendously potential to be our next Suarez. :D

No deal done YET for COUTINHO but many reports out there seem to suggest a deal may be completed anytime soon.

12m pounds is not a small sum for our club operating on a tight budget. think the owners must be really desperate to rebuild our fortunes. no more Cups to play for, now the only realistic target is to work hard for an ECL place. It's an uphill task but achievable.

would have loved to see Sneijder join Pool but too bad we can't afford his wages. there are always doubts if South Americans can succeed in EPL. Lucas took a few seasons before he blended with the team. hopefully Coutinho, if signed would settle into the team quickly.
