Confirmed Coutinho out for 6 weeks till Jan 17'.
Suddenly Pool has become short handed.. Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino n Sturridge out! Hopefully no more injuries from now.

Ah Gong really sad to hear about the players' injuries . Now Klopp will be forced to use other players for cover. He may also look into the transfer market. Ah Gong hope that the injuries will not cause Liverpool to stumble on the pitch. They seemed to be struggling the last couple of games .

It will be very interesting to watch Klopp's plans in the winter transfer market.
We also have the option to recall on loan players such as Markovic.
On the positive side at least we might have Lallana available this weekend.

Problem with Pool is there's not enough strength in depth unlike Mcity n Arsenal. Pool is under strength now with injuries to 4 key attacking players n there's no capable replacements apart from Origi.. The rest of players like Stewart, Grusjic, Woodburn etc.. are definitely not ready to fill in their shoes!
Worrying moments from now....

Expect Klopp to field a second team against Leeds tonight . Some youngsters may be given a chance. Mignolet to play . Also expect Lucas ; Klavan ; Moreno Stewart to play . Hope Liverpool can still play despite the loss of Coutinho due to injury .

The good news are that some players showed potential and we are in the semi finals.
Not too good news is that presently there are 3 good teams like Southamption, Arsenal and Man Utd playing for a place in the semi finals.

The day Ben Woodburn announced himself to the world & crashed the message boards:cool:
What a great moment: Ben Woodburn is the youngest scorer in Liverpool's history, 17 yrs 45 days. Beats Michael Owen (17 yrs 145 days)!

Tough game though. Gary monk is builiding a decent side there. Thought our lads did ok, young kids performed well again, shows the future is bright and there is talent at the Academy. What a ball by Trent A-A for the first goal! All in all a good win, no injuries and now hopefully a good draw for the semis.

That said, without four frontline forwards here, as well as Adam Lallana, Liverpool looked a shadow of the team that has been so prolific. I really think we need to buy in January under the circumstances.

On a moving side note, Liverpool players wore black armbands last night as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash in Colombia, which was carrying members of Chapocoense Football team from Brazil.

'Lucas Leiva, the Brazil international who was captaining Liverpool last night , knew some of the players. He asked Jurgen Klopp if he could wear a black armband. Klopp said the whole Liverpool team would wear them.'

Good result to move us onto the next stage of the competition. Some players were not bad while some needs more work as Klopp mentioned.

I think we were very lucky. If not for Leeds' poor finishing and that shot which hit the post we would have been out.

Overall we did have some help from our lucky stars. Our team clearly lacks depth and quality.

I finally find at least there is hope in Liverpool FC . The future looks brighter . Could we be seeing the birth of a new hero ? I hope Origi is alright after he sustained a knock in the match. Would be nice if Liverpool is drawn to face Hull . Sad that Newcastle got knocked out after penalty kicks.

Ah the holy grail, how I dream of Liverpool winning the EPL as well this season.

Heart says yes but reality check says got a chance but it all depends on whether our best#11 are fit and sharp to play most of time and particularly over the crunch time.

All the latest injuries to our most key players + Mane going missing in Jan/Feb for that darn stupid ANC appears to have dealt a serious blow to our chances of winning the EPL. The Reds strength in depth just ain't there at the moment, I think.

Chelsea, City and even Arsenal still look to have stronger squads on balance.

Like what some others have said above, perhaps alot is now riding on what Klopp and the Liverpool management decide to do over the January transfer period, that and a wee bit of luck!

Conte is a descendant of the Italian mafia and his grandfather was a "Don"..... whether his winning ways are a result of his coaching talents or his mafia connections is anybody's guess.

Bournemouth saw this opening and punished us in the next half. Firmino was lost in the left wing while Origi and Mane faded off.

Our squad still lacks quality. We need to invest in the near future if we are to compete aggressively next season.

Yes I am too actually very sick listening to the same excuses season in and season out.
However, Klopp took 2 seasons to win the league with Dortmund.
Lets give him some time and see what he builds as he clearly stated Liverpool is his last job in football.

Despite a change in managers the same old problem exist . Klopp really need to solve Liverpool's woes in defending . Can't imagine the defense collapsed in the last 15 minutes . It just show how Matip is important to the setup of Liverpool's defense . Klopp really need to strengthen the squad in certain key positions. Looking at the bench it was really a weaker reserves . The positive thing that comes out of it is Origi and Mane . I also hope Woodburn would get more chances to prove his worth. I only pray that this loss will not come back and haunt us in May . Definitely we can kiss title goodbye for this season. I hope the team picks itself up . Next up is West Ham a stronger team than Bournemouth.

We need to solve more worrying issues such as a left back, central defender and defensive midfielder.
A good CB is needed to pair with Matip while Lovren and Klavan can be back up unless Klopp trusts Klavan to partner Matip.
Gomez should be tested at left back soon as he is recovering and if he fails just buy another player.
I repeat again as long as we do not have a powerful DM it is tough for us.

We all know why Matip was not playing, but really cannot understand why Klopp chose Lucas over Klavan, think this was a mistake.

To be fair to Lucas though, I think Lovren was crap as well. Looks like Lovren is only comfortable when Matip is around.

Agree Karius not the only one at fault. That said I think he should have been able to save the third goal as well(not the penalty), like what Carragher said in the post match analysis on Sky.

Liverpool also lack hard core leadership, our centre is soft, Henderson has yet to step up to the plate as captain.

Also the Reds need to know when to shut up shop and see a match out to get those 3 precious points, instead of leaving themselves vulnerable to unnecessary attacks. The unravelling at Crystal Palace (2 years ago) all over again.

When will we ever learn?

To sign a big name player we need to win the league. Champion League spot is not going to lure a player with huge reputation to Liverpool.

This is the fact.

Our next option will be to do what we do. Find players who have the potential and nurture them.

Tough game this weekend, then again i think all EPL matches nowadays are difficult.

Hope to see Liverrpool bounce back after that shocking defeat against the Cherries last week. Must also take advantage of playing at Anfield.

As an aside, I am happy to see Arsenal, City, Spurs and ManU all proceeding on in their CL/EL campaigns, which means more mid-week games for them and more travelling as well. Hope this translates into fatigue and injuries for all of them!

That said, it now looks like Chelsea appear to be firm early favourites to win the EPL this season.

Too many mistakes happening, almost like we're slacking.

We also have absolutely nothing on the bench. Another game where we need a goal and still end the game with 2 subs left.

I really do think we need a quality forward player in the Jan transfer window. Matip was top drawer though.

Oh man, we really could have done with 3 points today. Tough game away to Boro midweek and then Everton away. The way we are going we could be out of the CL places come the New Year.

Our recent results showed how much difference mistakes and the absence of 1 or 2 key players will cost us.

Burnley to begin with we could have taken 1 point but lost the match.
Man Utd at Anfield was a 3 point match yet we drew.
Bournemouth was a totally disappointment with 3 points in the plate and we threw it away.
West Ham was another match where 3 points were possible but we took 1 silly point.

A total of 10 points out there and we lost 8 points.

Origi looks weak and does not seem to have much pace. He has done well so far but fades when the games goes deep in the second half.

Firmino has been very poor ever since he was moved to the left wing. He presses well but most of the time is quiet.

We need to move Milner back to the midfield. His experience and talents are wasted on the left back.

Wijnaldum needs to improve. He seems very unsure of his midfield duties since he was an attacking player.

Klopp has to do alot of thinking with a calm head. Maybe a change of formation as 4-3-3 does not seem to be the right fit for now.

1) Complacency

2) Liverpool have a leaky defense . Again concede goal at set piece

3) Team struggling ever since Coutinho got injured .

4) Headless chicken form seemed to be dropping as well as other players .

5) Liverpool failed to kill off the game when they have the chance.

6) Credit to Origi being the best player so far . He will become a great striker in the future .

7) Klopp will not blame his goalkeeper as he is part of the spine and is selected by Klopp . So have to blame Klopp not player .

8) Title confirm can kiss good bye . Champions League maybe. If Liverpool continue to drop points than even Europa League can also bye bye.

9) To all punters please don't bet on Liverpool you will lose money .

Luckily West Ham's name starts with a "W" and not "B" otherwise Liverpool could have lost the game, then it should be "Best Ham" (starts with a B, always beat Pool)

Very solid defensively which was lovely to see, Mignolet didn't put a foot wrong. Competition really does wonders for goalkeepers! Karius looked sulky and moody on the bench, well then you just need to buck up son:D

Adam Lallana man of the match for me! Mane was an excellent attack engine. Special mention for Klavan, did not put a foot wrong. Origi is finding the form that saw him play so well for us in the second half of last season, long may this continue.

We did well overall as a team, scored 3 goals, kept a clean sheet and took 3 points.

However individually some players seems to struggle. Firmino clearly is unable to player as a winger and Wijnaldum does not give the team that midfield strength.

I hope over time they improve and when Coutinho comes back I wish the team's flow is not disturbed.

Find that Chelsea no standard @all even though they got the 3pts.

If u are Chelsea fans, u won't mind cause u are on the top of the table. Liverpool plays exciting football and conceded many goals. For Liverpool to win a match, they must score more than they leak in goals, ironic.

Benteke currently with 8 goals, more than any of Liverpool players :D

I always say we need an iconic 20 goals striker.... someone like Suarez, Fowler.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Liverpool is the highest scoring team, meaning goals are spread between various players. Unfortunately, Liverpool also has 1 of the worst defence among the top teams.

The game was played with high intensity and great aim to win. Both teams showed that but I expect Liverpool to be a class or 2 above such teams.

Klopp always speaks about team work and playing together as a team. However special mention must be given to some player.

Clyne. Bombs down the right creating chances while ensuring his defensive duties are not forgotten.

Milner. I don't know where to start but maybe he will be our next goalkeeper.

Mane. Real beast and a speed monster who gave the defense a hard time.

This guy Sturridge. I believe he made many fans who called him to be sold eat their own humble pie.

We need to keep him if we are serious in competing with Europe's finest. To do this 3 subjects need to be address.

1. Win the BPL this season.
2. Extend a new contract which pays him well.
3. Have a substantial release clause penned in the contract.

Players are allowed to do whatever they want in their private life so long as it does not tarnish the reputation of the club.
The offense is drink driving and clearly he does not understand the seriousness of this offense.
As a professional individual who many kids and families look up too what is the message you are sending?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is one name linked very closely to the club. I hope we can find some good players to fill the void and who fits into the long-term plans.

Speaking about transfer Carlos Tevez moved to China and becomes the highest paid player in the world with wages of £610,000 a week. I wonder how does Messi and Ronaldo feels about this.

Sterling is a fraud..... the Anfield boo boys were out in force and could see that he was affected by the boos every time he had the ball....... it was our 12th man that kept him quiet :D

But I am kinda disappointed with Sterling that he is so easily discouraged by the boos...... a true professional should be able to shut out those boos and will not let that affect his game...... so on hindsight it is not a loss for Liverpool to have let him go. :)

Liverpool fans at Anfield were amazing and truly outstanding.
I can 100% say this is the best performance from the crowd this season and they were in full voice.

Disappointed that Man City had so much possession and shots.
I guess Klopp had a different plan to counter Guardiola's strategy.
Milner was fantastic and Lallana did well further forward.
Rocket header from Wijnaldum.
Some guys need to step up their game when we visit Sunderland.

Only way Pool could have scored more last night was to bring on Sturridge in the 2nd half cos the rest were totally ineffective especially Firmino.
Luckily Pool scored with the only chance of the game they had!

Ah Gong agree some of the Liverpool players played badly . One or two needs to be dropped to the bench . But even though play was not so good the most important is still collecting all 3 points. Next game is away to Sunderland.

Ah Gong wishes all a Happy New Year . Please remember to spend more time with your love ones .

Tomorrow's game against Sunderland will see a tired Liverpool.
Furthermore they will be without Sadio Mane & Henderson.
