The return trip was by taxi. as the Milkman had left a day earlier and G Eagle + mr.P both wanted to go to hway kuang in bangkok, we booked a taxi from mr. T. me and my buddy carry on to Don Mueng after dropping G Eagle and mr. P somewhere in Bangkok along the way. the whole journey from our pickup point in south pattaya to don muang airport was about 3 hours. our driver was a young man who I think has been partying the whole night because he kept nodding off along the tollway. and he was super slow too going between 50 - 70 kph only. and we encounter heavy traffic for the Bangkok to don muang part of the journey. Finally reach the airport and pay the driver 1200 baht as agreed with mr. T... but the driver wanted another 110 baht for the toll fees. told him no such thing as we agreed price with mr. T at 1200 baht all in. He then asked for tips. did not want to argue anymore with him so gave him 100 baht extra.

Total fare = 1200 + 100 = 1300 baht
Time taken for trip = 3 hours.

Are you talking about a bus trip to/from Patts to Survanahbhumi? Your bus must be super fly!!! Usually bus from Bangkok to Patts about 1.5 or 2 hours (about the same from Survanahbhumi) provided you dun get the bus that makes like 100 stops along the way! I once made a taxi trip from Patts to airport in 45 minutes! Of course it was 5am in the morning.

In BKK taxis usually faster unless u are stuck in Ladphrao, Sukhumvit, Siam Square, Yaowarat etc... areas where both inch their way at the same speed! Motorcy is always the fastest but dangerous!

Suvanabhum is closer to commute to Patts (just over 1hour). DM is across other side of Bkk, so expect to pay a bit more for Bells or taxi.

But of course, you need to factor in price diff on budget airlines (to DM) vs regular airline in Suvanabhum. It's better you spell out your query, to avoid being vague on reasons

Oasis is AGG, one of the first few around the area. There's also sugar sugar and rehab, soi diana also have Papagayo. I recall 250B drinks only may happen during festive period.

I like WS.. bro ahtecklim likes beer bars. Drinks at both not cheap so suggest u try both. If u new to these..then can try WS first.

I really enjoy the Thai nightclubs I just find them more fun and when you go enough you start knowing the songs and it’s a really good time. Most people who enjoy the Thai nightclubs in Pattaya tend to go to Differ but I quite like Noir it’s not as packed and the girls there are way more friendly. Don’t get too many bar girls in here but a lot of girls from the hotels and nearby chonburi go plus a lot of girls in Town from Bangkok. Probably the best place to pickup a non working girl in Pattaya.

Usually I start the afternoon at Soi 6 then proceed to Soi Buakow or trawl the bar beers at Soi 7 & 8. If u manage to BF some gals by now. U can bring them to club or go hunting in the clubs but avoid "farang" clubs like Lucifer coz the crowd & music usually not to our liking. There are a few after hours places that you can party until the sun rises... places like Casino.

I suggest u just take a cab straight to pattaya about 1100baht then stay at a guest house range from 500-800baht u can get a nice ensuite room.

If u were to stay a nite in bkk just to sleep u need taxi to Bangkok town abt 300bht.hotel minimum 1000 bht and then bell bus travel to pattaya 350bht.

U will waste 1 night + pay more then straight to patt.unless u plan to cheong in bkk then it's a different story:)

If u have an intention of taking a good shower and a good rest before another hour plus to Pattaya, u dun have to go all the way to town. There are a lot of decent hotels near to the airport for less than 1000thb, they even provide free mini bus tho n fro airport.

Fyi , Current closing times for WS is 330-4am. Plenty of time to find a desprate pooying waiting to pay next month's rent! I know coz i was out the last two nites till the sun came out! :)

Not sure Bell's last trip what time so just take a cab to Pattaya straight. No doubt Bro Naemlo's advice is correct but spending that money on hotel room near airport, BTW I think no budget hotel near airport, might as well take a cab straight to Patts.

Dunno why u not book on-line for 1 or 2 nights first. Now low season and many rooms on Buakow for Bht500 up. Old but clean, can check out places like Lek Apartments on Agoda. Check in, freshen up, still have time to chiong and mayb take one back to hotel to snuggle up to. Some agogos in Walking Street like Diamond Agogo on Soi Diamond close as late as 4:30am.

I prefer to sleep on a bed and have a good shower so I dun mind spending few hundreds baht. I did once in old and new airport.

Lat Krabang, the hotel mini van will pick u up from airport, at midnight, less than 15 mins on the road. Next morning, will send u back to airport.:D About 500thb with breakfast and wifi. Condition of the hotel is like watana.

Don Meung, same as above except close to old airport. Mini van will pick n send back. Cheaper at 350thb without BF.

Those who need to transit BKK late in the night, have a morning flight to catch and dun feel like going all the way to the town or dun like to sleep in the airport, can google for the hotels.

Wow, will just miss you as I will be in Patts end of April and will be in AC by the time u reach Patts. Didn't know about the damn elections in AC during the week of May 9th, with possible bar slowdowns and closures with the 5 days alcohol ban. Had I known in advance I would have switch my schedule around between Patts and AC and could have met up in Patts, but already bought tixs with no changes or refunds. Oh well, next time.
But not to worry though as Patts is way way safer than AC. No problems walking around day or night. Unlike AC, u will "usually" have no problems even walking down small dark streets. As others had warned you, just avoid the LBs as they are often very aggressive and physical and beware as they also travel in packs. The LBs in AC are relatively tame and civilized compare to their counterparts in Thailand.
Since u have already mastered AC, Patts should be easy for u. Only real difference is AC bars and girls are all concentrated in small area but Patts is scatter over a larger area which requires taking the baht bus =their version of the jeepneys in AC. Also baht bus more safe compare to AC jeepneys which are known for pickpockets and sometimes robbery.
I would say the main danger in Patts is being run over by a motorbike.

Main difference for 1st timer is always the language barrier as English is NOT the primary language spoken here, many of the girls only pretend to understand you but use of hand signals will help and of course "money TALKS"- ha ha

Also another difference you will see for yourself is some Patts go-go places on Walking St have nude stage dancers which sadly you will never see anymore in AC.
Hope this helps you more about Patts.

Just note that many maps will not tell u that most of the big streets are ONE WAY traffic only. ex; Beach Rd runs only one way going North to South and the next big street parallel to Beach Rd is 2nd Rd and that runs one way only going South to North. All smaller connection streets betwwen all major rds are usually 2 way traffic.
But everything is pretty simple there and only takes about 1-2hrs to familiar with it all once u are there.

I was in Pattaya during Vesak day 2 years ago, a few beer bars were opened, and "camouflage" beer was served. :rolleyes: Pubs were brightly lighted up with soft music .... I saw also sian, rather sleep in the hotel.

I was in Sukothai years ago, same... some pubs were opened but no loud music... bottles were still served.

How cheap is cheap? Nice place to recommend would be Moom Aroi at Naklua (aka North Pattaya). Prices from Bht150-200 for most dishes so considered "cheap" by Sinkiepor standards. Get a table by the beach before sunset to enjoy spectacular view with cold beer in one hand and your puying in another. She will love you mak mak!
