Many categories of hotel for different budget. Prices from S$20 to S$400/night. Location is another criteria. Extras like free wifi, breakfast or airport transfers are a consideration.

Sad to say its not only him but a few others residents who have been hurt by free spending Asians who have made these ang mohs suffer price increase and being sidelined in the process. They hate the Koreans most.

Juliana's is a filipino joint which the rich locals patronize. They call it the "model" club. Waitresses serve you drinks and no takeout. Models accompany you through booking system chargeable by the hour. Takeout price is between you and the model and the model will compensate the club from the amount she receives from the client, the amount depends on the time she leaves. I believe she has to pay 5K to the club if she leaves at opening time with a client..... to about 1K near the closing time. So be prepared to pay more than 10K to book a model from here.

Although the management dun turn away foreigners, the local clientele do mind about the presence of foreigners inside the club. My advice would be better to stay away from that place, there are more than enough bars in Fields & Perimeter to keep you busy without having to encroach into filipino territory.

The Penthouse Hotel on Santos street (opposite Wild Orchid next to the Swiss Chalet) has run into cashflow problems in its construction. There are plans to raise money to complete the construction by offering mongers a chance to own a part of the hotel. This is a good opportunity for regular cheongsters to buy into the hotel and have a place to stay whenever you visit.

There is a presentation on the schemes available (something similar to timeshare) on the 14th of January 2012 at the construction site along Santos Street from 6-10pm. Do drop by if you happen to be in AC during that period.
