http://tdy.sg/18ZKQ15 - PM Lee Hsien Loong announces changes to Cabinet and other political appointments. Here are changes:

- Mr Chan Chun Sing will be promoted to full Minister on Sept 1 and will continue to helm the Ministry of Social and Family Development. He will also be Second Minister for Defence

- Mr Desmond Lee will be appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development on Sept 1.

- Mr Tan Chuan-Jin will relinquish his appointment as Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development. He will continue as Acting Minister for Manpower.

-Dr Mohamad Maliki bin Osman will be promoted to Minister of State. He will remain in the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of National Development.

- Four female politicians have been promoted.

Dr Amy Khor Lean Suan will be promoted to Senior Minister of State. She will remain in the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Manpower.

Mrs Josephine Teo will be promoted to Senior Minister of State. She will remain in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport.

Ms Low Yen Ling will be appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Social and Family Development with effect from Oct 1.

Ms Sim Ann will be promoted to Minister of State. She will remain in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communications and Information
