Economy slowdown

After post WWII, our govt send talented ppl oversea to study on scholarship. They know how all the system work, hence they quote higher based on future money. Futhermore, they always said goods are coming. In fact, it is the inverse!!! Don't know why minor minister without backing get the game finished fast. Is it an indirect insider politicking? Right now, as many quote as "Period of turbulence".

Currently we read almost daily only "gloom & doom" news & we definitely have to start making plans how we can survive thru' it !!!

IMHO... After CNY, there will be more retrenchment esp in Service & Manufacturing Sector... Demand in electronic sector has drop tremendously... Order book for the 2nd quater looks pathetic... Hence, result in low consumption in domestic market...

Hope that, Singapore government exerts more muscle towards banks attitude towards personal & biz loans... If not, when SME faces short term cash flow problems... Tatz it, more pple will be lay off...

Frankly speaking, i don't like the idea of most companies saying they facing problems of bad debts & cash flow problem in Oct-08 -Dec-08... How abt the boom time from 2007 to 3rd quater 2008... Did we really share or benefit when our company profited from the double digits growth rate... Who really benefit from the boom... We must really think hard...

When the credit crunch ballon busted... All companies started crying for help!!!!! Giving all sorts of excuse, to cut MVC, CPF, force leave or even retrenchment... May i ask those toopid company, where does your earning & reserve go to????

Sighzzz! But good tingy for now.... look up for local listed company which had strong asset base & good cash flow & market valuation way below mark...

IMHO, things will be even worse after CNY! After CNY will enter the peak period of Corporate Reporting season, many, if not most companies will likely announce poor / negative results, and then retrenchment / cost cutting measures, etc.

During boom times, employers will pay employees according to the contractual agreement / appointment letters, ie, the items stipulated in black & white. During bad times, all the more excuses will be as mentioned above. They play according to the \"rules\", not offending the law or follow everything according to black & white.

The big boys continue to live in their landed properties & condominiums, drive big cars, lead luxurious lifestyle, the typical employees face more difficulties. Then Pappy see the big boys still basking in luxury, they\'ll think majority of Sillyporeans are still capable to lead those lifestyle...

during new yr message, govt forcasted our GDP 2009 bt -2% to +1%. Just 3wks, PM Lee said we need revision again...Lets see during budget speech, wat will the revision be now..

initially i predicted 2009 GDP will be -2.5%, unemployment will be 3.5%..

now i also need revision.......my forecast, 2009 GDP -4%, un employment 5.5%

=> BRO,the tough business conditions have certainly affected my business so each time i'm thinking of any "bonking any FLs" i think many times if i really want to spend my $$$ in my wallet ! Because last year i probably spent few hundreds a month on bonks...so that add up to several Ks a year !!! Then there's also $$$s spent at the KTV cheongs...so if i add up the total $$$s spent on both fun & happy times,it's really a lots of $$$s that "could have been savings used to pay other monthly expenses or gave me old folks much more for the coming Lunar New Year or have a good holiday ( but these days where got mood ! )....So i definitely plan to minimise all these bonk / KTV expenses !!! Don't what other BROs think ?

Last week my Happy Hour should be "Unhappy Hour" instead,because the PRC gals who sat with me kept pouring out their sad stories about how bad business was at the Ktv ! Juz killed whatever Ktv mood U have !

Then more PRC FLs are "hard selling bonks" by calling me up last few days ! ( maybe making stronger efforts to earn as much as possible for the coming Lunar New Year !!!.... )

It will a tough,tough,tough year & only the strongest will survive ! But we must really stay alert for any good opportunities & have a strong positive attitude to overcome this crisis !!!

=> Dun underestimate them,BRO !!! They are "super street smart" these days & with such a huge population in PRC,it's the survivor of the fittest & strongest !!! In the other thread on AV Raids,there a report that so many FLs have been caught & they are still coming here ! => BRO,please dun laugh,i have been praying really hard since last few years as it's tougher & tougher doing business in our little sunny island !!!

Already discussed the current economic gloom with many "experts" and most have shared that "we may experienced the worst market depression ever"...and if read the papers this week - NO bids at property ++++++++,shophouses to closed,more job cuts,etc !....And most have expected it'll be worst 2nd half of the year !!!....

Of course on the "positive side" - there are lots of sales at the shopping centre,cheaper properties for sale & good time to buy shares at cheaper prices & keep it for any market rebounds with a possible 20% gain ???....

So "die-die" we need to really survive 2009 to enjoy any possible recoveries !!!....
