it all depends on why she said that? in order not to jump to conclusions, it is best to ask and confirm rather than assume. for eg, if you just started work and she knew about it, i doubt she will ask if you have a car unless you are from a well-to-do family background.

to me, if the gal ask me if i have a car in order to secure a date with her, it might be that she wanted privacy as in together with you...if you know what i mean?

there are other ways to test her for materialism.
