Add a 8 after the 0 :)
you must be long time never call oredi.....change was since 2006
Dont wanna rain on your parade but chances are her no.'s probably changed since u never called for so long. Anyone realised thais like to use prepaid cards n some have a couple of nos. Doesn't seem very cost effective compared to our subscription plans, unless the plans in thailand are expensive.
thanks bros.
sian. all failed now must try the +66 method.
please let me know if there are other ways. thanks

if u manage to call the no. correctly then i believe the mobile no. no longer in used liao le. try calling again 1 or 2 time if u still get that meaning really no longer in used. sometime the damn network got problem tell u this no. not registered.
calling mobile no. in thailand from sgp. u just need to remove the 0 and add a 8 if thai mobile no. is an old one. example 012345678 then calling will be + 66 8 12345678.
unless the mobile no. u had is 08 12345678 then u just remove 0 and call.

thanks bros.. i think i give up liao.. either engaged tone or no advance gsm:confused: thanks for all the help.;)
since we r at this topic, all u regular bkk chiongsters mostly use which prepaid cards when u r in bkk? anyone knows the price diff for outgoing and GPRS? i always use DTAC cause there's this big counter at suvanarbhumi airport upon walkin out. i find the calling charges cheap but the gprs is quite ex, my credits used up fast if i keep using wap. :(

if i buy a prepaid card from thailand and bring back to singapore to use.
Q1. is there autoroam for thai prepaid?
Mine is 1-2-call. No roaming.... :o
Assume there is autoroam.
Q2. when my tirak sms me to that thai prepaid card will my thai prepaid card kana any charge since by default receiving sms is free?
Receiving SMS is free but sending out is expensive.
For calling so far I using M1 IDD mobile plan + M1 1818 calling card.
I'm using starhub 018 to call BKK. The charges are normal SG local airtime charge when calling BKK mobile.

Anyone know if Singtel/M1/Starhub offer prepaid that is having autoroam? and can receive sms overseas free?
hello brother all the tricks of saving money that you are thinking now. i also been through it. the astronomical phone bills hurt my bank account real bad. but that is history. i shall name you budget guru. many gurus in SBF you know? :D
there is no autoroam for Thai Prepaid SIM. in Thailand make a call to call centre and request to set up roaming service for a specific country to roam. from my past experience 1 2 Call is the most hassle free. other providers may require you to go to their service counters to show your passport to activate roaming services.
when you are outside of Thailand receiving sms is free but not calls.
if you are a light user making calls within Thailand only. 1 2 Call is the most expensive. DTAC and True is cheap but coverage not as good as 1 2 Call.
Starhub Prepaid SIM has free autoroam. receiving sms is free if outside Singapore but not calls.

last but not least all the ways of maintaining long distance relationship is an uphill task. both parties should either settle down together in Thailand or Singapore. if both parties are really serious about each other. it can be done. with or without a lot of money.

So 1-2-call allow user to request for auto-roam service setup?
Is this free or there is some charges?
i am dtac prepaid user... and i have autoroam in sg. I receive sms free, and the person sending the sms from thailand also charged local rate(cheaper compared to intl sms).

What is the prepaid card name and buy from 7-11?
i bought it from road side stall. The name should be DTAC HAPPY. But u should be able to buy it from most places i guess.
After getting ur card, can call the customer service to activate whatever u want. :)

Activate whatever I want or whoever I want?:p
Ok thank you!:D
I meant all the happy services lah :) some services can only be activated after u have had the line for min 90 days. I particularly like the service who allows u to extend the validity of ur Sim till max of 365 days, for about 24 or 30 baht fee. Very useful
of cos after that u can activate whoever u want to happy too

Do you know if they have those free internet sms service?
if u register the online service for the dtac sim card, they have the online web sms to dtac customers free of charge, but limited to 50 sms per month.
