The Electric New Paper :
Husband has unprotected sex with China woman
Wife: I can't say no to sex with him because...

We need his money to survive
HER husband never used condoms when having sex with a lounge hostess in China.
By Celine Lim

05 October 2007
HER husband never used condoms when having sex with a lounge hostess in China.

Yet, Jane (not her real name), 49, continued to have unprotected sex with him after he returned to Singapore.

This, despite her fears that he may give her HIV or sexually-transmitted diseases.

The reason: The family is financially dependent on him.

She said: 'I can't reject him when he wants sex or insist that he use a condom. What if he leaves the family?

'Two of my three sons are still in school and I have no savings.

'My oldest son just started working a couple of months ago and can contribute only $200 to the household.'

Jane, whose sons are aged 13 to 24, said her husband of 26 years had visited the other woman in China early last month.

He is planning another trip in November.

The housewife said: 'I find it so insulting, yet I'm helpless as I'm not financially independent.

'He said that if I give him his 'freedom', he will not leave the family.'

She said she had initially thought of filing for divorce.

But after consulting a lawyer recommended by a friend, she decided against it.

Jane said she felt that her poor O-level qualifications and age would be obstacles to finding a job that would allow her to support her two younger sons.

She said her husband earns about $4,000 a month and the family lives in an executive flat.

She said: 'My husband is not rich, what if he gives his money to the other woman and defaults on the monthly alimony?

'My sons will be the ones to suffer. At least, now, he still pays the household bills.

'If I'm alone, I don't need his support. I can protect myself.'

Jane said she knew that her husband, who is in the construction industry, had visited prostitutes when he travelled to Indonesia and Malaysia for work in the past.

But he claimed he had used condoms during sex then.

She said: 'He told me that even if he didn't want to, the prostitutes would insist that he use condoms.'

But things took on a dangerous turn in March when she discovered SMSes from a woman in China.

When she confronted her 49-year-old husband, he admitted to having an affair with a KTV lounge hostess while working in China from May to December last year.

It was only then that Jane found out he did not use a condom.

SCARED

She now fears getting HIV and sexually-transmitted infections because of her husband's latest, reckless behaviour.

Jane said her husband readily admitted to the affair when she confronted him.

She said: 'He said he is 'deeply in love' with the woman and there was no need to use condoms as she's 'clean'.

'He said that she is 'monogamous' even though she is still working in the KTV lounge.

'They had sex the second time they met, but he believes her when she tells him she doesn't 'entertain' other men.'

Under a proposed amendment to the Infectious Diseases Act, her husband would have broken the law by not telling her that he was at risk of contracting HIV or AIDS.

At present, only those who know that they are HIV-positive are compelled by law to inform their partners of the risk before sex.

NO ILLNESS, NO EVIDENCE

This is something that Jane is only too aware of.

She said: 'The law will take action only if I get HIV and he tests positive too because I'd then have evidence to go to court.

'But there are no preventive measures now. If I know he's having unprotected sex with multiple partners, the law won't do anything.'

Has she been tested for HIV or other sexually-transmitted infections?

Jane said she has thought about getting tested, but that it would 'only be fair' if her husband went as well.

any man who believes a working girl will not sleep with other men are simply not living in reality. Some more this guy only goes there once every few months.

best is wear protection for everything. from my personal note, i also have a PR girl and she can tell me she dont like condom and can even shoot inside. No way, better be safe than sorry.

He is not the only dumb guy in singapore. I have a friend who's husband is fucking around in local ktv and told her he fall in love with a prc chick and keep her as mistress. They also fuck raw and the best part is her husband strongly belive the chick is truly in love with him and she will still be with him if he have no $$$. I don't know why in singapore have so many brainless ppl. In the end he got a few types of STD from those prc chike he fuck and the mistress said she went for check up and she is clean. Don't where he got those STD from. Ha haha... Joke. His wife still stick to him for the good of their children as she don't want their children to have a broken family. His wife have a high paying job with no problem to feed their children and herself but she still choose to stick to him.

its sad to read of such irresponsible behaviour from a man who is the sole breadwinner in a family.

Cannot imagine a man whos already 49 yos and had been spending alot of time overseas and yet can still fall into this KC trap.

Its as the saying goes, when u think with your small head whatever rational thinking the BIG head comes up with is being thrown out of the window.

Such a man not only jeopardizes his own life but more importantly the lives of his family.

Haiz, all i can say is pray that the man will not contract terminal STDs and pass on to his innocent family.

Just my 2 cents

Does it matter whether this particular story is real or fake?

The fact is that these things do happen... and with so many typical naive Singapore chiongsters aound, these things happen far too often.

What if TNP publishes a story about a PRC student becoming a man's mistress? Even if the story is fake, so what? The events described in the story are happening all the time!

reality is often more bizarre than fiction ...

if a fiction writer can write it, most likely it already happened in real life ...

sometimes real life happenings, fiction writer oso cannot imagine ... true or not ?

>>Jane said she has thought about getting tested, but that it would 'only be fair' if her husband went as well.

This part I don't get it. Why should her husband go for testing too? Her health is hers. If she's concerned about it, she should go ahead & get tested. If *touch wood* she's found infected, then the husband is really the culprit (assuming she's not sleeping around herself, of course).

The sad part about the article is that the husband's point of view is not included as well--as in he's also included in the interview. Everything is just according to her. One sided.

Sorry, not that I'm heartless. But well...
