I just ask in thai and compare latest price in bkk and spore. Just ask thai goldsmith to weigh, and i do a direct conversion. It seems cheaper even with the rate conversion.

If u understand the different between 23k and 22k, u will know the retails price of 23k should be higher but also u have to take note, if u buy same 22k gold jewelry with same weight but different shops, the price is different.

End of the day, if u can find cheaper 23k, then go for it.

Personally, investing in physical gold is always better than saving stacks of cash unless someone discovers ways to reproduce gold. :D

These are quite common especially among the older generation folks. My granduncle's goldsmith shop also buy old gold items to recycle the gold and on many occasions customers bring in fake or adulterated gold items which they had unknowingly bought as genuine.... some even have receipts and authentication certificates for these items.

And many family "heirloom" passed down for generations are often gold plated only or mixed with other metals.

Not all banks..... Kasikorn in Central Festival allowed me to open after being rejected by 2 other banks in Jomtien & North Pattaya. But got restrictions like banking facilities only can use in Chonburi province.

U will need a Thai address and mobile. Some banks dun bother, some banks require u to show any utility bill with your name on it. Just hop around like u do for Agogo. Bank will not send u anything via mail cause they know mail service in Thailand is crap :D All communication is via email, sms, mobile app or over counter.

Bangkok Bank used to have bank account for tourist. I dunno whether still available. If u travel to province frequently then go for K bank or SCB. The rest a bit difficult to find atm or branch in province.

- I will put the ST or LT amount in a drawer and extra 10-20% tip if the session is good
- Hotel key cards will leave in pocket of pants just in case she takes one card and comes back to your room when you are out
- when the deed is done, i will do a sweep of the room casually to see if anything is gone before i pay her
- Got higher risk of theft when it comes to FL. At least bars girls can be confronted the next day at the bar

About 12 years ago when I went to phuket, the safe stolen from the room when we went out. The funny thing was there was nothing in the safe. Luggage and backpacks was still there in the hotel room. Could not stop laughing.
