Samsters who seldom (but have) casual sex tend to be fearful of the prospects of getting infected with STDs, more than "seasoned" Samsters.

I confess to be one of them. After struggling with this irrational fear for so long. I concluded that:

If one uses protection during intercourses, the risks of contracting STDs are much reduced. There is no such thing as 100%; but the risks are considerably reduced.

Safe sex = lesser chance of getting STDs. This also includes the deadly HIV. And according to medical studies, the chances of contracting other STDs are higher than contracting HIV. Stakes are even higher when one is already infected with other STDs.

Therefore, people should not be overly concerned or fearful of contracting HIV. Rather, they should be more concerned of contracting other STDs which would increases the risk of contracting HIV.

Conclusion, have PROTECTED casual sex. And stop overly worrying about contracting HIV, when other STDs are more common and easier to get without protection!

Yes, protection for BJ and FJ will greatly reduced your risk. Only nasty STD you can't protect is Herpes which only requires close skin to skin contact even without any signs or cuts, abrasion on the other party. But herpes will not kill you, its a nasty skin disease. How to avoid getting Herpes? As one bro say, apply Betadine lotion to the unprotected area and when you are whacking the gal, avoid contact with her genital area and yours. How you going to do that takes skill...so for me, I avoid FJ.

Yes I do use my own condom anywhere...... :) I only use Okomoto for maximum sensation, but some HC girl complained that it is too thin. I explained that though it is thin but much stronger and less oily than Durex.

Today the health minister mentioned at an Indian AIDS Awareness event, that Home HIV test kits may become available as OTC (Over The Counter) in Singapore, before the end of the year.

He mentioned that of an Oral Saliva HIV Antigen 20 minutes detection system. If he is anyway close to what would be actually made available, then he was mentioning about the OraQuick Rapid Test System. The only non-blood HIV 1 and 2 Test System approved by the US FDA.

However, according to FDA regulations, the OraSure product is only FDA approved for use by medical professionals, and not for self-administration. (Self-administration may bring about false-positive/negative readings if used inappropriately.)

No matter how it will turn out, the Singapore government is commendable in their current take on the HIV Epidemic.

I believed you misunderstood my intention.
My message was that besides HIV, there are MANY MORE infectious sexually transmittable diseases that can get infected with by having unprotected sex.

Therefore, you should be overly concerned about getting HIV, when you shouldn't even be thinking about having unprotected sex in the first place!

Furthermore, as a form of "dis-incentive", contracting other forms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases would INCREASE your risk of contracting HIV.

Thus, there is no reason NOT to use protection for sex. There is every reason, and plenty of incentives to do so!
