Never try it before, but is it reliable? It is just some kind of scam?

surely got some real.. some fake. You can only find out after u meet :D

even sometimes they send their friends to go meet u.. so it's hard to tell.. but of cos some ppl can still find love and even get married. case by case one lar

yea, its hard to say... from irc, u can already see some pretty weird things going on.

my opinion is 50 - 50. it can break either way. and some are truly scams, while others are really out to find their true love.

maybe can try SDU?? kekeke

internet is a world of uncertainty, they are always 2 sides:good or bad.we got to knw my ex-gf and we were together for amost 3 yrs before we broke off last sep.there are stories both happy and sad so its up to individual and sometimes timing & luck comes into the picture too.

Got this pleasant looking SQ gal messaged me on SDU's Lovebyte website first.I added her on Friendster, sent her an acknowlegment email and looked forward to her reply. No replies after one week,I checked her Friendster profile-she was online leh...hmmm maybe she was busy,I thought.I sent another email,no replies again even though she had been online so this time I tried Friendster messaging.Nothing again,I wonder what the ???.Then one month later,I checked her Friendster profile again, knn now her status was "in a relationship!"

Anyway, this is the email she sent to me,

Was browsing through the lovebyte website and spotted your interesting
description of yourself. Would be nice for me to get to know you more
other than that you are a nature-lover and an aspiring writer

My name's ******. You may access my profile in Table 4 Two. If you are
looking for tall ladies, I wonder if you will consider me tall since i
stand at 1.7m. =P

Well, I will be glad to be indugled in the wonders of Mother Nature. Do

Personally I think you can ask her out for a cup of coffee first, if that is your ultimate intention. :p
I am skeptical about meeting people from the cyberworld. Like one bro pointed out, you never know who or what kind people you will meet. Its a world of uncertainty and full of surprises.

My personal opinion - Take Everyone You Chat On The Internet With A BIG Pinch Of Salt!

The internet is the perfect playground for anyone to go anonymous and transform themselves into another persona that is usually different from their real self in life.

How would you know if the person's photo really belongs to him/her?

How would you know if the person whom you are meeting is the same person as the one you were chatting with?

How would you know if the person is actually "SAFE" to meet up with?

How would you know if the person wasn't running a SCAM to try to "bait" people like you?

How would you know if the person didn't spend 20 mins to come up with a totally new ID/Background under his/her Account Name just for that Chat?

Just FYI, it is really easy to "Create" a totally new identity on the Internet, from the name/sex/age, all the way down to the details of educational/career background, relationship details, hair/eyes color, weight, height, fav. hangout etc etc.

After that, whenever they find themselves talking to you, they just pull up that paper/document that co-relates to the correct identity, and use that as a base for all their chats with you.

If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

I didn't even have chance to establish some rapport online let alone ask her out for a cuppa. She only sent me one message and disappeared...

The girl you described sounds like someone who mailed me, sometime back. She works at SPH. Apparently, she looked like of those early 20s idealistic (as well as materialistic) SYTs.

The mail that came from her was a pretty brief one, with a qn about whether she could add me on her friendster list.

Few days later, *wa la* her status was "upgraded" from single to attached. Its annoying, alrite. Good thing was that I did not really bother about her, until I saw the change in her "status" on one fine day.

Happens all the time man.

Benq,

Like the rest of the bros (majority), the net is filled with lots of nasty surprises and occasional pleasant encounters.

Whatever you do, don't get conned by any of those females who claim to have financial problems and etc. These girls are damn good at faking. On top of that, no one knows whether these girls have any problems. :(
