Just some cheonging and admin advice for BKK newbies. I just went there once recently and feel that some things should be pointed out.

1) Watana mansion (http://www.staybangkok.com) is quite far away from the heart of the city. It is very cheap at a rate of 500baht per day and offer 24hrs minimart and restaurant. However, it is very far from "happening places" except for MP that is just a minute walk away. If you are not so much into MP, staying at hotel at Suikumvit is a good idea.

2) FL are quite dangerous. Just had a experience of FL running away after taking the $$. Maybe go bangkok is about gogo bar and not LT like in hat yai.

3) gogo bar is quite fun and I don't really recommend nana plaza gogo bar as nana plaza is a dangerous fire hazard(Plaza only have one entrance) and building is old. Soi cowboy is better. For soi cowboy, maybe go to Long Gun or those pub with transparent second-floor dance. Wooh, I saw one chinese(most probably singaporean) head never come down from the second-floor dance for 30 minutes. He then took a drink and then continue looking again. When I leave the bar, he still looking without moving his head down.

4) airasia departure is at terminal 1 of bangkok airport and terminal 2 of singapore airport for flight between bangkok. You need to buy a ticket for service charge of airport for 500baht before able to proceed to board the plane in Bankok

5) Dun lose your heart there, that important.

After going indonesia, malaysia, china, australia, puket, hat yai, I personally feel that BKK is the best place to go and it is rated the 3rd best city to go in a magazine. Hope I will not be flamed if there is any mistake in my post.

Pls up my reputation if you like this post. Thanks

I used to stay at Asia Hotel which I think have a covered walkway to the BTS Station, in case raining still can go out liao. I took BTS and Subway to Huay Kuay Station to visit any of those MP there, 25 minutes journey - I consider it short distance, want to cheong boh pian lor ?

Depending on your definition of heart of city. If I want to buy cheap goods, I will stay near Patunam where the wholesale market are. If want shopping centre like Singapore, then near MBK, Siam Square location etc...... in fact so many shopping places to look for while in Bangkok. Even near the Emerald Hotel apart from MPs, there are Robinson, Carrerfor and Tesco.....just a sharing.

This, you have to talk to the gals yourself. If they like you, maybe they will go with you for maybe 2K or above. Overnight really depends cos chemistry must be there and not forgetting they had work the whole day, hence in room you might not get what you got in the room. on top of that, they might be 'shag' out for too much actions. Sometimes though agreed overnight, they might wake up as early as six and wake you up for money to go back. End of day, depends on your luck also your ability to 'sian' them, no point getting a looker and sucks big time on service. ;)

Are you looking for "special" in those normal MPs or looking for "special" in those that already have them? You don't seem to know what you want.

For those normal MPs, you have to negotiate with the girls themselves for the "special". They get all that is quoted. However, not all girls but most will ask. Something like the HCs in SG if you get my drift.

Poseidon on the other hand, is a nicely decorated high-class fishtank. You pay for the fuck services there & the girls get a cut out of it.

I was thinking that girls in poseidon get less for the hard work they put in as for example they earn 50%(1900X50%=950 only) wherelse girls in normal MP get 1500baht(normal rate) for their special and maybe 200baht for their massage. To me, it important to give the girls the money for their hard work and not those blood suckers OKT and boss who virtually did nothing. My 2 cents worth oni:)

Though we all agree with you but there is nothing much we can do. If you insist on doing so, then I suggest you look for FLs then, they get to keep what they earn, get paid while being bonk, a place to sleep when night falls and a hot shower to match as well.

while i was in BKK for a 9 day trip, i stayed in Ratchada City Hotel, recommended by Unforgiven here, whom's quitted SB though :P

rates were 800 baht a night, which amounted up to onli SGD$250 for 8nights! very damn cheap, and no, dont think it's some cheapo hotel. the bed is a bigger den king size, big enuff for 3 people to roll the hell out of em. very big room, about 3times the size of a normal hotel81, followed by a regualr sized bath tub.

Location is at Pracharat Bamphen Soi 6, sorry if i spelt it wrong k, opposite is an internet shop, where u can surf SB and game if you're not in the mood for shopping and bonking. less den 300 m down the streets is HuaiKwang MRT, where u can take a 4 stop ride down to Sukhumvit for 17baht.
If you;re into MP, along the streets of Huaikwang MRT (Ratchadapisek rd) is 1 km string of MP. bonk until u siao.

seafood restaurent accompanied by the MP side by side.
very nice location, and best of all... it's girlfriendly. haha.
Im not a promotor k... just that been tehre and espereicenced all this. wanted to share with u all.
check out the website @ www.ratchadacity.com

hope this helps for a budget stay!

2) FL are quite dangerous. Just had a experience of FL running away after taking the $$. Maybe go bangkok is about gogo bar and not LT like in hat yai.

4) You need to buy a ticket for service charge of airport for 500baht before able to proceed to board the plane in Bankok

5) Dun lose your heart there, that important.

2)Different people goes to Bkk for different kinds of fun. Search the forum and you can find tons of contributions from people in the forum. With regards to FL, if you want to try you got to take your chance and be careful. Even if you go out with non-WL some may also just take your $$ if the chance arises.

3) That chinese guy seems to be someone familiar....naemlo is that you? :D

4)The 500 is just the airport tax. Its common everywhere. Singapore charges
$21 for airport tax alone. There is still air insurance and fuel tax.. comes to around $69.

5) And one's mind as well.

Emerald used to be but now only palazzo is G-friendly. And walk in rates are normally higher then internet rates. Regarding BTS/Subways I think bro G-tk is in a better person to answer this as he is more knowledgeable in this area. I seldom take subways so I cant help you. :D

Hoi you back already? Went to your hideout?? :D

Back to this thread. I think in BKK, quite difficult to have best of both world. Want MPs then not much shopping, want shopping then no MPs. Best solution if you want both, stay close to one of them. Overall travel is cheap there, most of them within 100 baht range by cab so no worries, best is also by foot, get to see more things. Note: Beware the jams if you are taking taxi, check the time.

If your intention is for bonking, I suggest you stay in the hotel within
the vicinity of MPs location, the illustrated map is self explanatory:

http://bangkoktonight.com/maps/ratchdapisek.shtml

If you want the hotel to be as equally guests friendly as they treat the angmo,I think asian must behave discreetly when they bring gals into the Hotel. Else the captain/security there will impose some strict rules on you then.

The following thread is the guest friendly hotels thread:
http://bangkoktonight.com/hotels/guest_friendly.shtml

The 3 hotels mentioned are guests' friendly situated at the centre between Thai Cultural Centre and Huay Kwang Sub-way or MRT station. All the MPS are within short walking distance. You can take these train to Sukhumit station ,exit from there and walk up towards the BTS Asoke station to go to other places like Nana, Patong Entertainment Establishment for night session.

For hotel booking via internet you can try this:

Example of a poseidon model category of 3500 baht will only earn 1850 baht.
Poseidon will take 1650 baht.
At mirage, a model category of 3100 baht will take 2000 baht while
Mirage take back 1100 baht only.
Note the difference.

Any bros heard of the old Poseidon(not the famous one beside Copa Cobanna) whereby one of my friend happen to be there when the taxi driver thought he was going to the old poseidon

Really gratefully for getting numerous advices here so i'll just do my part and contribute as i just came back today.

Actually, travelling in bkk with taxi is cheap!!! Some more i was lucky not to have experienced any major traffic jam. Basically now most taxi will automatically on the meter, so no need to bargain for price, just alert them if they forget to on the meter. Starting from 35 bath, the meter hardly jump, not like in singapore. I've travel to numerous places, the most i have paid is around 85bath, most of the time its around 45-60bath range.

Word of advice for newbies is maybe not to totally listen to taxi drivers recommendations!! Especially those parked near hotel waiting for customer to come-by. They'll approach you and ask whether you want girls, massages, saying how good the girls are blah blah blah..they'll keep coercing you to go MP even when you tell them you just went earlier on, but when you tell them you want to go shopping centres instead and ask them whether they want to fetch you, they'll ask you to take other cabs. bastards....

Another thing is when you board a taxi and asked to be fetched to a place, be firm and tell him to bring you there. Some taxi drivers will tell you bullshit stories like now the place closed, or now too early, no people and then he'll recommend you to some other places, knn. That day after cheong pubs at Silom, we took a cab and asked to be fetched to the famous siam coffee house, but the driver tell us now siam coffee house(siam hotel) no more girls as a japanese tourist was killed recently there and robbed ,so police raid the place, dunno whether true or not, so give him benefit of doubt, can any brother here please confirm izzit truth?

Anyway at around 140am he took us to a pick up joint call S&D club, for picking girls there back for 2500(LT).The joint is like those in batam, not glam and the girls rating is low, average 3 to 6.5 in terms of looks. Maybe was late as the joint open from 6pm to 6am, so maybe if go early can get better grade. I heard from the girl that the taxi gets a cut of 1000bath from the 2500 bath, dunno whether true or not.

For body massage, didn't try the float type, but i did went to posoidon. Fish tank girls at 3rd floor starts from 2000, 2200, and 2500. 4 floor models lounge starts from 2900 to 5500.I would rate the girls in fish tank more value for $ as its cheap and the look wise average 6.5 to 7.5. For model grade, although is better in terms in looks, around 7 to 9,they seem more "dao" leh. Of coz those models dress better lah, not like fish tank girls.

For shopping wise, what i feel is no need go to a specific place like pratunam, chatuchak lah, pasamalem is almost everywhere even when you go cheng pubs in sumkuvit or silom area, you'll still see alot stalls alond the streets.

For food, actually not much diffierent for our local food leh.If you go the family run coffee shop, price is cheap. we ordered steam groupa, omelette with shrimp, tom yam ####, vegetables and another dish plus 2 packs of cigrette with 3 soft drink only 600 bath. if you go to higer class restaurants and order around 8 dishes with drinks, its around 1500 bath, slightly more expensive but still worth it as divided by 3 and all of us fully satisfied, each only 500 bath..there is one thai crusine restaurant to the right of oppsite novetel, aorund the corner of the junction, the ambience and food is nice.

The road side stalls, if you dun mind the environment and are less skeptical with the cleaniness, actally its quite tasty especially soup base kuay toew and noodles. Saw some stalls at pasamalem in silom and sumkuvit by the main road selling kuay teow soup with beef or porks balls, slurp slurp, searve in very big bowl, but too full as ate too many during dinner and lunch. In bangkok, no need worry about food man, just beware and control you waist line.

For disco with local chio gers(note: not working ladies, so cant buy, have to depend on sianing skill, but difficult as boy and girls go together in groups and music damn loud!!) you can try discos such as hollywood and Dance fever, if i not wrong, its in ratchada area some where near posoidon...just take cab

For pick up disco joints like CM2, i think the girls cant make it lah, not those chinese thai but darker skin type, you'll have to go on monday as more gals due to being ladies nite, free entries for them. 2000 -3500 for thais, russian also have, but lack quality i feel.

Lastly, advice is not to keep thai baht in hoping to get some stuff in airport, as the price in airport is fucking expensive. one can of beer in 7-11 aroung 20-40bath, but inside airport, 120 baht, knn. so eat and but in bangkok before you go in airport..

I stayed at the Amari Atrium (which is nearby) in mid-Nov and it was still there at that time. For those of you that are interested, the Amari seems guest friendly. I had a friend visit me, met her the the lobby, chatted awhile and brought her up and nobody stopped me. The Amari is a nice 4* for what you pay - I had a deluxe corner room and the room was huge with a separate living area and sofa. Cheap ethernet (no wifi) broadband (by BKK hotel standards) at around 480 baht or so that wasn't blazing fast but fast enough. Of course, it not a luxo hotel and you can always tell by looking the the sheets, the pillows, the duvet and the bathroom - all not great - but good enough.

FWIW, it's cheaper to eat landside i.e. before you go through immigration. The Black Canyon (they serve Thai food) in T1 has almost comparable prices to the Black Canyons in town. I always try to catch a meal there because food options diminish once you go in. The airline lounges inside serve only finger foods although I did get a good free head and foot massage at TG's lounge near gate 30.

Thanks bro for all the feedbacks and advises ....
one thing i love about this forum ... lots of information and guidelines ...

GiddlyGook ... what's the rate at the amari hotel and where's it situated ??

exotic = unique, creative, challenging like the no-hands restaurant etc ....
very different from normal restaurant ....
it need not have to be a full fledge restaurant ... i heard about a place called Bed ### ..... u actually can lied down on the bed while having some food ... but no hanky panky inside as it's a very good ambient place ...

i believe food in BKK is fantastic ... whether it's along the roadside, home cooked restuarants or high priced restaurants ....
got to lose some weight now before going to BKK ...

cheers

I stayed there for one night before moving to another hotel and I paid US$58 through siam.net. The Amari Atrium is on Petchburi - didn't I already say it was around the corner from Siam Hotel?

Hi Bros,
Just came back from BKK and thought I should share my experience on no-hands restaurant. The restaurant is called "Galaxy No-Hands Restaurant" and is situated near Silom (walking distance from Patpong). Please take note that there are a establishment called Galaxy at the location. The actual restaurant has the full name on the signboard. This is second time for me to visit this restaurant. Frankly not my fav as gals and food are only so-so and it is very expensive. After paying for gals and food, everybody stretch out hand for tips i.e. captain, mama-san, waiter, shoe boy, etc...

However my 2 Korean partners wanted to go, so no choice since they are paying. To the Koreans this place is still cheap. One of the Koreans wanted to visit an old flame there so I had called earlier to book her. Nice gal, looks so-so, but great attitude (name: Gife). When I called to book her she actually advised us against going to Galaxy saying that it is very exp and said she can meet my Korean friend after work at 11.30pm. However my Korean firends still insisted on going. So like lambs to the slaughter we went and still had a good time being fed by the ladies and of course with our hands free to explore the ladies. Except for the price, the experience was fairly decent and good thing is that most of the ladies can speak a little English so communication was not a problem and so we joked, drank and ate with good fun. Overall quite enjoyable especially when someone else is paying.

Cost (don't be too shocked):
1) Gals to seat with you at the restaurant THB 750 per gal;
2) Takeaway after dinner - Gals cost THB 3000 (gals get THB2500);
3) Dinner - whatever you order (I understand that there is also a set dinner). We ordered about 7 to 8 dishes and together with drinks (mostly beers) cost us about THB 3000.

What I wanted to warn bros about is that one of my Korean friends (first time in BKK) selected a girl by the name of "Nim". Her behaviour was quite clam while at the restaurant. After dinner we brought the gals to karaoke next to Holiday Inn Silom where we I still had a leftover bottle of whiskey. This place is quite nice and price is decent. This is where Nim started to show her true colors. She was a hell of a drinker. She started by ordering a hell of a lot of finger food (or “anju” as the Korean’s call it). Then she called for Tequila for everyone. I myself must have had at least 6 to7 shots. Nim probably had much more as she was definitely trying to drink me “under the table”. Anyway after a while I put a stop to it (also the Tequila was getting to me and I did not want to be knocked out) and decided to asked for the bill and returned to the hotel (already nearly 1 am.) of course with the gals. My Korean friends paid for it and thought it was cheap. I found out from them the next day that they had paid THB 6500 at the karaoke. I was shocked and thought we had been cheated since I had my bottle of whiskey there (I did not expect the cost to exceed THB1000 and with the Tequila and food maybe another THB 2000 at most). All the gals had left us in the morning except for Gife (one of my Korean friend old flame). So I questioned her and found out some shocking information:

1) Nim was 48 year old and had worked at Galaxy for 28 years. Wow she looked at most 30 to me. I was told she has spend a lot on plastic surgery over the years.
2) She is most senior gal in that place and most feared. So Gife (she only started working there less than 6 months ago after her husband was jailed for drug related offence) and the gals are very afraid of her.
3) She is the best drinker there and great at conning customers.
4) At the Karaoke she had made arrangements with the staff there to pay her THB2000 by charging it to our bill. She apparently is famous for doing this especially to Japanese customers. She did this openly in Thai (since none of us spoke Thai) and had warned the other girls at the karaoke not to mention anything to us.

Very Expensive lesson but one well learnt. Bros be-warned of the "old hag" at Galaxy if you are foolish enough to visit there.

paranoidspy... on S&D club

You are spot-on. I visited Soi Cowboy the other night at almost 1am. Did not find any girls and most shops were closed. Jumped to a taxi prepared to head back to hotel and this driver recommended S&D club nearby (3 min drive) for some action and told me that all joints closed (I believe so). I was a bit drunk and accepted the proposal. I was there and surprised to see that the girls were below average, at around 4-5 out of 10 for 3,000 bht. I finally got one eatable who never looked enthuasiastic but was probably the only one that my little bros. would accept.

I got this lady and brought her back to hotel. Fortunately, she was young and very slim. She told me that she was a uni. student which I did not believe anyway. Service was so-so but the fj was fine. She reacted quite positively. One bad thing is that she left after 1st round while the papa at S&D told me that the 3,000 bht was for long-stay.

In other words, unless you are desparate in late hours (after 1am), S&D may not be a good option or you should get yourself a bit drunk before you go there.
